Erasmus+

Ligo Brusselleer has been an active participant of the Erasmus+ programme since 2016. As well as sending our employees and students abroad, we receive visitors and invite experts.

We have completed four Erasmus+ KA1 projects and one KA2 project. Our current KA1 accreditation project started in september 2024. More than 50 employees have been abroad for a job shadowing, a conference or a course. We have welcomed partners from different countries. Since our previous project we organise group trips for learners, where they exchange with fellow learners abroad, practice their language skills and learn about Europe.

In May 2024, we completed our Erasmus+ KA2 project ‘Together Strong in Languages’, a partnership with Rotterdam and Luxembourg on the multilingual education of their children.

International learning is an important part of professional development at Ligo Brusselleer. We are open to new collaborations, especially for our group trips with learners.

About us

Centrum Basiseducatie Ligo Brusselleer is the Brussels-based institution for adult literacy in Dutch. It is one of the 13 Adult Literacy Centres that are part of the Flemish Department for Education.

Ligo Brusselleer organises open courses in literacy, maths, social orientation and ICT for adults with a low degree of education. In addition, we offer tailor-made courses. The language competence levels our institution offers as defined by the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) are A1 (Breakthrough) and A2 (Waystage).

Ligo Brusselleer also organises language and literacy coaching for adults in vocational training as well as educational courses for parents of children in Dutch-speaking primary schools. Our lessons take place at different locations in the Brussels Capital Region.

Ligo Brusselleer is part of a broad network of institutions and organisations and works in partnership with many Belgian stakeholders in adult learning. Ligo Brusselleer employs 143 people to date and offered courses to 1.977 students in the ’22-’23 school year.
